Hello everyone! I truly feel your pain of the Summer Blues... In the Midwest, the official start of "summer" kicks in less than a week, and the temperatures are already in the '90's with dewpoints above 70, humidity above 80%. It's sunny everyday and depressing. The only thing that helps is to "preview" fall and holiday items at stores as they are always a season ahead. Keeping the house cold, bringing out the fall decor, and changing the light bulbs to lower wattage's along with candles, helps to some extent with SummerSAD. It's still very difficult. Thank you all for being there on this forum now and for the upcoming months. It will feel like an eternity until the summer will be over. Can't wait until the first day of Autumn begins. Sincerely, Erik

What a long miserable week! The dreaded summer depression has really kicked in. So many things I should be doing and want to get done, but all I can manage to do is sit and sweat. So frustrating. And the air conditioning isn't really helping much. I hate summer

It's hard to believe, but I'm looking at my tenth year in row of dealing with the atrociously hot and humid Texas summers. Griping about it seems like an exercise in futility. Now matter how much I b*tch and gnash my teeth, no matter much I try to sleep away the incredibly oppressive days, no matter how much I press the s.o. to move to Washington...here they are and here I am.
I find myself deeply envious of those who have darkly tinted windows on their vehicles (which is technically illegal, but...) Getting special film (3M Crystalline) on my windows (and windshield) is big on my to-do list. Driving around with the relentless sun beating down, I feel like a bug under a magnifying glass.

You guys are encouraging. Good to know there are others like me out there. The bright days are painful to me and the Sun my enemy. Can't wait for Wonderful Winter. Stay cool We're still stuck in an 80 degree weather pattern. Tomorrow and the next day will be a few degrees cooler, but then the temp is supposed to climb back up to the high 70s-low 80s. Sigh.
