Here outside Chicago was awful, 101 degrees with a 74 dewpoint!!! It's 10:30pm and it's still 88degrees with humidity so thick you could cut it with a knife! No rain here for weeks either!! Everything is brown and dried up like a desert. At least the weather people are saying the heat is dangerous and more people die from HEAT than any other weather!! Not COLD weather, either! So how could anyone enjoy this weather??? I long for some nice rainy days or just a cloudy day!!

I'm in upstate NY. usually we have a total of 8 90 degree days all summer long. We are up to 15 so far and we've still got most of July and August to go. I'm finding the sun's intensity really bothersome this year as well. I'm watering our garden every day since we are way below the avg rainfall for the year. The changes in the climate are not something I'm looking forward to.

Third day in the 100's here outside of Chicago! We are on our 22nd day of being above 90,17 is normal for the summer. The humidity is like the gulf coast, really "thick" out there. No rain here really this summer, out watering the flowers every day . The grass is already brown and dormant,so at least we don't have to go out and mow in this heat.

I use a sleep mask nearly every morning. I am especially sensitive to light - that's why I've always been an early riser I guess.
Nonetheless, since school is out for the summer, I don't need to get up at 5 am anymore. But with the day length near maximum, dawn is quite early, so I've resorted to slipping on a sleep mask when I wake up around 4:30 am every morning. It allows me to get several more hours of sleep before I finally get up, eat b'fest, and start my summer job...the "Honey-Do" list my wife cheerfully handed me the day school let out!

This hot weather and drought we are having here outside Chicago is really depressing!!! This is like cabin fever people say they have in the winter! I don't have winter cabin fever and always go out in the winter, unless there was a blizzard! Now you go outside and people are getting sick from the heat, they can't take it. You don't get sick to your stomach or feel faint when heading outside in the cold! I hate this weather and just need to vent my feelings on this.

Ginger--since you are replying to a thread someone already started you can't start a new thread here--you can only reply. You will need to go back to the main forum (i.e. click on "venting" and from there at the top right I think you can click on "new thread" something along those lines). Let me know if it doesn't work.
