So, I'm curious if others are like me when it comes to heat issues and hating the summer...my whole life I have always felt warmer than everyone else. As I've gotten older, it's gotten worse (I'm 42 now). I don't know how I lived in TX for 17 years! I couldn't live there now--St. Louis, where I live now, is bad enough!
I've had medical etiologies for this severe heat intolerance checked out and no one can find anything. I was positive I had hyperthyroidism because the only other person I've ever met that identified with my hate of the heat is a person with hyperthyroidism! I went to an endocrinologist and had lots of labs done and nothing. It's also not menopause. It's very frustrating and I guess I have to live with it even though it's getting hard to go to public places, people's houses, and class because it's always too hot for me everywhere I go. I'm always the freak of nature wherever I go because everyone else is freezing cold and I'm burning up!
I'm just wondering if anyone else in the group has heat intolerance like this which has caused the Summer SAD I guess. This summer has been so horrible and it's only mid July...it doesn't cool down here until October. I hate the heat SOOO much and I'm sweaty all the time and I can't cool down. It's like a blast oven outside and people around here seem to like it and they sit outside in this! The fact that grilling is a summer activity is beyond me...why do people want to stand over a fire while standing outside in 90-degree heat?? Makes no sense to me--winter grilling makes more sense! I've decided the only thing I can do is move north--I'm seriously looking at Fargo!
Thanks for listening to me vent and I'm very interested to know if others have a similar experience to mine. Thanks, everyone!
